Bude U3A

Bude U3A is a part of the worldwide University of the Third Age, where those in semi or full retirement can offer their skills and learning, and learn from other like minded persons.

This web site needed to be able to have input by a small team of volunteers to be able to keep news and events up to date.

The Bude U3A site is to be used for bringing new members in, and keeping existing members fully informed of the many groups and activities that are operated under the U3A umbrella.

How I achieved the Bude U3A aims

Having many groups needing their own page it was decided to be able to add news items under categories corresponding to those pages. This enables both a member wide view of news and also to be able to set each group to have their own news highlighted.

The top of the landing page has a carousel that can be specifically set to highlight the best of the latest news.

TheBude U3A publishes newsletters and other information for members. This has been embedded on the pages in order to read in full, download or print according to the readers needs.

U3a Bude required an up to date site to show that U3A is about skilled people being able to share their knowledge as they begin to have more time in their lives. Consequently an upbeat, skilful and modern design was taken to underline their forward thinking and broad approach to learning.

The website has been well received and has given a lot of discussion by the stakeholders in both design and manipulation of the site and backend.

My sites are able to be edited by the client, and tuition is given to best enable their needs.
